Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled and customer‑focused Residential HVAC Service / Warranty Technician to join our service team. This role is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining residential HVAC systems, with a primary focus on warranty work, callbacks, and service-related follow‑ups. The ideal candidate takes pride in quality workmanship, troubleshooting accuracy, and delivering an excellent customer experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair residential HVAC systems, including furnaces, air conditioners, heat pumps, and ductless systems
- Perform warranty repairs and manufacturer-required service work
- Respond to installation callbacks to ensure systems operate as designed
- Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, airflow, and control issues
- Perform system testing, adjustments, and commissioning as needed
- Clearly document service findings, repairs, and warranty claims
- Communicate professionally with homeowners regarding diagnoses, repairs, and system operation
- Coordinate with installation, warehouse, and dispatch teams to obtain required materials or parts
- Ensure all work complies with manufacturer specifications, company standards, and local codes
- Maintain a clean, organized service vehicle and work area
- Participate in ongoing technical training and safety meetings
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years of residential HVAC service experience
- Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills
- Working knowledge of furnaces, air conditioners, heat pumps, and airflow systems
- EPA Section 608 Certification (required)
- Ability to read wiring diagrams, schematics, and manufacturer documentation
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
- Ability to work independently and manage service calls efficiently
Preferred Qualifications
- NATE certification(s)
- Experience handling manufacturer warranty processes and documentation
- Familiarity with high‑efficiency, inverter, or variable‑speed systems
- Experience with smart thermostats and communicating controls
- Background in commissioning or quality control inspections
